KINDLEAUDIBLE

My Christmas Plan This Year:

Option 1: Spend Christmas with nosy family members picking at her personal life…or lack thereof. No thank you!

Option 2: Spend Christmas in Los Angeles all alone. Not a chance!

Option 3: A small-town cozy holiday getaway. Yes, please!!

One small problem: A cowboy hunk named Logan Redmond.

Revé Chatham sure knows how to pick ’em. After two failed engagements she thinks she’s found “the one”, only to have it end in a very public disaster just before the holidays. All she wants is a man who truly loves her and a kiss that takes her breath away, just like in The Princess Bride movie.

Will Revé play it safe, and go back to her lonely city life, or risk her heart once again for the future she longs for?

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

In II Corinthians 13:5 we are told to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith. In Lamentations 3:40 we are told to examine our ways and test them, and to return to doing things the Lord’s way.

In I Corinthians 11:28 we are to examine ourselves before we partake of communion, to see if we are right with God. In Hebrews 12:15 we are to see to it that no one among us falls short of the grace that God has given us.

Galatians 6:4 tells each of us to test his own actions. The writer of Psalm 139:23-24 implores the Lord to search his heart and find out if there is any wicked way in him that needs to be addressed and repented of.

These and many other passages of scripture urge us towards self-examination and self-judgement. The Bible provides a few measuring sticks by which we can estimate our growth and progress in spiritual things.

KINDLEAPPLE

Everyone has to live with second choices—events and circumstances that they would not choose, some trivial, some tragic. Daniel was a man whose life was filled with second choices, but he did more than just survive; he stayed faithful to God and thrived. So what is there to learn from his story in Scripture?

Pastor and author Jeff Lucas challenges readers to ask, “How can we, like Daniel, be faithful in the ‘Babylon’ of second choices?” Down-to-earth but inspirational, Singing in Babylon explores how the reader, like Daniel, can find purpose and meaning in life’s second choices.

KINDLE NOOK AUDIBLEAPPLE

This provocative book starts with an unlikely interview in which America’s foremost skeptic builds a seemingly persuasive case against the miraculous. But then Strobel travels the country to quiz scholars to see whether they can offer solid answers to atheist objections. Along the way, he encounters astounding accounts of healings and other phenomena that simply cannot be explained away by naturalistic causes. The book features the results of exclusive new scientific polling that shows miracle accounts are much more common than people think.
